On this day…

Birthday Candles Well, kiss my grits. It’s my birthday today.

For those of you keeping score, I am now 32. In other words, young enough to still make stupid mistakes, and old enough to know better.

I was gearing up to write a rather lengthy entry (boring all who gaze upon it in the process) about birthdays, and how we go through a “tipping point” when things stop being about the start of our lives, and start being about that damp, black hole in the ground… in other words, gearing up to be a total birthday bummer.

Then I thought, you’ve got lots of years to make miserable on your birthday - don’t be a maudlin ass.

Happy, happy birthday... today is my birthday too! I'm 35 (4/5/67)... You know, I was almost 12 before I (daftly) realized that I had one of those cool sequence birthdays. Once, when I was in my mid-20's I went to a numerologist at the behest of a former wife. She thought I was the anti-christ...

Anyway, best of birthday wishes to you! I hope all of your friends and family are around to love and celebrate with you.

Hey. Happy Belated Birthday! I love the site, it looks great. I thought that the maudlin stuff was all my own, because most of the people I know don't seem to be getting on as bad as I am about the advancing years :) But you're right tho. Worry about it another day. This week, PARTY!
