Nixon is one of those records that I can’t listen to enough. It’s just (and I normally hate using this word) brilliant. Lead singer / songwriter Kurt Wagner can’t seem to do wrong (even though you spend half the time trying to figure out just what the hell he’s talking about). It’s a lush, country-laced orchestration, infused with a touch of deadpan humour and schizophrenia; perfectly realized chameleon-music for the chronically ironic.
