Goodbye, Mr. Dressup

Quietly, a large part of my childhood died early Tuesday morning. Ernie Coombs, known to millions of children (and folks who once were children) as “Mr. Dressup” has passed away.

With all of the sad events of the last 7 days, I could really use a good laugh and a smile. Thank god for Coudal, who pointed me to this collection of amazing LP covers: When LP’s Roamed the Earh. Thanks, guys - I needed that.

Mr. Dressup meant more to me than he could ever know. He could make me laugh all the time. And I still watch his re-runs today. When I heard that he had passed away a huge part of my heart died too. I miss him. Wait let me re-word that... Canada misses him. I love you Mr. Dressup. Thank-you!

Mr. Dressup was by far the greatest performer for kids of all time. I am 16 years old and i still love to watch his shows. He, I'm sure was a great man too outside the show. He is a person I look up too and i really wish i could have had the chance to meet him. Canada should be very pround of him as am I.
Mr. Dressup i love and miss you.

Im so sad that Mr. Dressup had died. I watched Casey and Finnegan as I grow up, and Im 16 and still love to sit down, and watch Mr. Dressup. I wish My childeren could watch him like I did! I think they should make a Mr. Dressup naberhoud for childeren to play online to remeber the loving Mr. Dressup, and play with the old pupits and the new to lorn the history of Mr. Dressup. I beleve he is in hevin looking down on all the childern that had loved him over the years. Good bye Mr. Dressup you will always be in my hart.

Mr. Dressup was the coolest kid show EVER!!! I actually got to have his autograph and a picture of him because he was so nice to give it to me! I was in kindergarden watching him and my mom let me go into the afternoon kindergarden so i could watch him! My teachers were so amazed how well i colored and cut because everytime he did crafts i would do it with him. I made sure I had all the supplies to follow along and i drove my mom crazy because of that! my parents thought i would grow up and become a artest. He was a great guy and i will always remember him. I wish i could of met him. He had the coolest show EVER!!!! WE all miss him very much
